The Interventional Endoscopy Section at the Washington University School of Medicine provides comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative endoscopic interventions in the management of benign and malignant diseases involving the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tree and pancreas. The integration of endoscopic expertise and extensive clinical experience with state-of-art technology is central to our mission of exceptional patient care.
Our physicians work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, internists and hospitalists. We are engaged in research pertaining to emerging technologies including endoscopic treatment of GERD and obesity, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) and outcomes research. The advanced endoscopy fellowship program educates future academic leaders within the field of interventional endoscopy and is an integral part of the mission of the Interventional Endoscopy Section.
